Ohio Dept. of Ed Approves Industry Credentials for Elder Care Certificate Program

Ohio high school students will have new options to prepare for health careers this academic year. The Alber Center's new Elder Care Certificate program has been approved by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) for inclusion into the 2019-2020 Industry-Recognized Credential List for 4 credits for high school graduating seniors. “This is a strong endorsement of both the value and the rigor of this curriculum, which is the result of hard work by a team of experts in gerontology, long-term care, and education,” stated the Center’s director, Myra Wilson, MS, SPHR. According to the Ohio Department of Education, “Our committee of Industry Professionals recognized the support for the Elder Care Certificate from The Ohio State University – Alber Enterprise Center as leading to a beginning career in Health. They have recommended this credential to be included on the Ohio Department of Education’s List of Industry Recognized Credentials for 2019-2020 at a 4-point value in the Health career field.”  Read story.


Business Honored by Alber Center

Several organizations and two individuals received honors during a luncheon and awards ceremony on May 22nd for their Outstanding Achievement and Excellence by Alber Enterprise Center at The Ohio State University at Marion.

Welcoming New Project Coordinator

The Center is pleased to announce new staff member, Erin Timmins as Project Coordinator. Erin’s role as the Center’s Project Coordinator includes client proposal preparation, overseeing the client project process and procedures with the team, and providing support to the Center’s solution providers. She is responsible for managing the Center’s financail reports and works with budgeting and planning.
